Take the N12 and then N4 out of Johannesburg.

Take the R33 off-ramp and turn left. Go into Belfast and right onto the R540 and continue to Dullstroom, continue straight through Dullstroom.

Turn left at the T-junction onto the R36 into Lydenburg. Turn left onto the R37 and right back onto the R36 out of Lydenburg and on to the road to Ohrigstad.

Continue on the R36, which becomes the R527, all the way to Hoedspruit.

Drive through Hoedspruit and left at the T-junction onto the R40. Drive about 17km until you see the Balule Gate on your right (there is a big cell phone mast there too).

Turn into the gate and tell them you are going to Ukhozi – they shouldn’t charge you.

Drive straight on the dirt road until you reach a gate and a sign for Ukhozi (about 10km), drive under the elephant fence and turn left and continue on that dirt road all the way until the camp (about 7km – there is an elephant fence along the way – just drive to the right and round it). In total it’s about 40 minutes from the Balule gate to the camp. You will lose your cell reception on the dirt road.
