Our team

Craig FergusonUkhozi's General Manager, puts his formal qualifications and experience to good use whether it’s on a game drive or a guided walk through the bush, where he offers insights into all the things that guests might otherwise miss. He also maintains the farm infrastructure, from roads to vehicles to erosion control.

Melissa Ferguson works behind the scenes ensuring guest’s drinks never run out of ice, and there’s coffee and rusks to enjoy along with the sunrise. As well as running around after the staff, she also runs around after their two children, Ceilidh and Gemma.

Patrick Leyane is based at Cliff Camp, where he ensures that baboons and other things that wander out of the bush don’t wreak havoc on the beautiful camp. On a game drive, he is also an entertaining and friendly guide for those new to the bush.

Mable Chibi is also based at Cliff Camp, where she looks after all the rooms, in constant pursuit of spiderwebs, geckos and dust. She helps provide the great healthy food served and is always willing to lend a hand.

Salome Ngwenya is based at River Camp, where her outgoing nature makes her popular with guests. She enjoys cooking and her rusks are well known to all who visit Ukhozi.

Vusi Ngomane is based at River Camp, where he spends most of his winters trying to preserve the rolling lawns from the depredations of the warthogs. His friendly smile and ability to braai (barbeque) a chicken to perfection are some of his claims to fame.

Seldom seen but still an important part of the upkeep of Ukhozi are Rooi Mathebula, Richard Sibuyi, Thabang Maholobela and John Mnisi. Known as ‘the bush squad’ they are kept busy fixing roads, bush clearing, and doing the myriad of other tasks that such a large area requires.
